Every 21 seconds, someone in the United States sustains a traumatic brain injury (TBI.) That’s 5.3 million Americans, plus 1.5-2 million per year. TBI rarely changes someone’s outward appearance, making it difficult for family, friends and employers to recognize the injury’s severity.
